@Gregor62 ,

has the issue of seeing or not seeing announcements at the top of GD page resolved itself?

    OK, looking into this further, there is a way to remove an announcement from the top of the page. Click on the gear, cog wheel, of an announcement. The first option is 'Dismiss'. If you click this intentionally or accidental you are Dismissing viewing that announcement ON YOUR DEVICE. You are telling it you do not want to see it as a announcement.

    It then falls into the list of topics as any other topic. When commented on, it will go to the top of the list of topics, as any other topic does. Likewise, as it gets no new comments it will fall farther and farther down the page of topics until it is on page 7,854 or such, as any other topic does.

    I do not know how, or even if it is possible to 'Un-Dismiss' an announcement. Remember, it is only Dismissed on your device.

    Announcements will rotate at the top of the page when commented on taking newest comment to the top, but will not be among the list of other non announcement topics on the page.

    All of the announcements are pinned except for the fallen members thread.

    It bounces back to the top with activity, but continues to move down the page like all the other threads.

    I looked, but don't see a gear available on the subject page in that thread. It has to be a glitch on my android if no one else has this issue.

    I think it must be your operating system. My Kindle tablet system is based on Android and is doing the same thing. On my desk top computer the thread is right where it is supposed to be. Bob

    As you guys describe, I don't think there is anything more can be done on the forum end. Sorry.

    I'll keep digging.
