I was in until I figured out I would have to save up for a whole year just to shoot it for one minute! 900 rounds a minute could get expensive! Bob
That'd be a lot of fun to shoot
Fun I have in the past had the fun of wasting ammo in one .
but as stated not just the cost of the gun but the ammo to feed it
just the ammo would be out of my 20.00 a month ammo budget
but then if you can buy the gun what's a few thousand more in ammo cost
Looks like two guys want it.
Lets see who wants it the most.
I have seen the MG 42 before personally, all legal I assure you. The one I was able to look at and handle had the tripod and scope. I believe the MG 42 had a cyclic rate at around 1200 rounds per minute. Not sure what you can pick 8x57mm ammo up for these days, but say at $1 a round that would be $1200 a minute of fun.
I think it was called "the buzz saw" by those that faced it and lived to tell about it.
Ain't legal for deer, so nope.

We had one in the gun store that I managed. It belonged to the owners girlfriend.
well darn, I couldve got it afterall,,,,
I wouldn't have gone past $47,500.
While many consider the MG42 the God of MGs IMO the all machined MG34 (MG42 was stamped metal) was not only deadly it was simply a beautifully machined piece of equipment and if I were to own any MG it would be the MG34.
Anyone wish they would have bought a hundred cases of Yugo 196gr when it was $69.00 a sealed case of 900 rounds???????
I do

20ish years ago Marc Krebs of Krebs Custom bought a transferable MG42 so he could copy it and build a post sample for his collection. I got to see it in person but never shot it. I did shoot some of his full auto AK47's at the range I worked at.
I was just perusing Centerfire Systems a few days ago. They a bunch of MG42 parts kits starting at $2199 with no barrel.

Getting into HK MP5 clones more and more now, I wished I bought a transferable sear for $200 back in the (I think) late 90's. Those sears sell for $8 unregistered and $40,000 registered / fully transferable. The guns they ship with rarely add to the value.

This HK33 is a bit of a deal at only… $28900 starting bid. The transferrable sear could go into my Turkish AP5 mp5 clone>
