Picked up our beef this morning

Went and picked up our side of beef from the butcher. I was worried we didn't order enough.
They brought out 5 stuffed butcher boxes of meat. The steer weighed out at 440+ lbs for our half. Got well over 300 lbs of meat.
Got it home and into the at top of stairs. Neither one of can carry a box down the stairs. So wife sits on stairs, grabs a box beside her and away they go down the stairs like a kid playing on the stairs. What a hoot.
Loading up the empty freezer, soon realized, we got a lot of meat. Freezer overflowing, took a bunch upstairs and was able to squeeze it the freezer. Not pretty, but it's all in freezers. Called our daughter to come get some meat, our treat.

It is a good feeling to have a full freezer !!! Enjoy ! The basement stairs were an interesting obstacle for us too.
Now you know,,bounce your hiny down them
Open box at start of stairs, make more trips of less weight… or do the bouncing shuffle LOL!
It will be a lot better than what you buy in stores.
Hey, you have friends here to help with the storage problem, what time is dinner?
Come on up. Bring a jacket it's chilling down here.
So that's how sliders are made. I had always wondered.

Lol, yes
I wish there were a place around here where I buy beef that way instead of $1000,000.00 a pound at the grocery store.
Yes sir, and that's why we ahead got a side. We know the butcher and bought a lot from him. Always great, fresh quality. The shop is always very clean, neat, organized.
Got so tired of store bought meat, tuff, no flavor, expensive. So we made the investment. I'm positive we're money ahead.
I bought halves for years, but now I just buy the cuts I most desire, and dont pay the top dollar for the more undesirable cuts. Soup bones you can get anywhere.
Years ago, I bought a side of beef. A week later, my old freezer quit working. Didn't notice it for several days.😢
If I ever bought another large amount of beef, I'd also buy a good alarm for the freezer.
I take care of several ranchers and farmers rifles and pistols. And reload for same when needed.
I've not purchased any steaks or burger in years and during summer/early fall they give me so many veggies I have to gift to my neighbors. And pantry is full of canned goods.
I'm a blessed man ,,,,, 😊
Good on you, good on them. Thats how it should be. ^^^^^^^^
What??? ^^^^
That is very true……. BUT what does it have to do with MEAT!!! 🙃😉
That is a picture I would not want to see !!!!!!
It is alright !!!! I have done the same thing !!! 😁
Had T bones for dinner last night. Wooo boyyy doggy.
Neighbor near had a couple steers swiped. Said he was going to beef up security,
Maybe you can steer him to a good security system.
At least you admit having a bad ear. You are no cow-ard!

Oh man, this Bull stuff is getting pretty lame…🤣
Here at my place that's when the power goes off.
That happened to me this spring…..New freezer and finally some meat..
We just picked up a 1/4 of beef ourselves. Definitely good to have the freezer full!

10 more days and our 3 head to the butcher. I've got 'em trained to go in the trailer on their own. Each morning and evening I dump about 10 gallons of beer mash in a feed tub in there and then hang out and fiddle with the trailer door while they eat the mash. I've actually had 'em locked in a couple times. On the 30th, once the door's shut, we'll hook up the pickup and haul 'em to town.
very smart to have them 'trained'. Can save a lot time, and prevent injury to you or them. Good job.
I do the same thing. After a few days they just jump right in!
nice
