Any advice on who to use when selling large gun collection. Rock Island is one company that comes to mind but there are several others. Who to use ????????????/

Locust Fork, right here.
+1. They did a great job for me in the past
Depends on where you live and possibly on how far you’d be willing to travel. There are several sellers here on GB that routinely handle large collections…and get top dollar while charging very reasonable commissions. Let us know your general location and one of them will be along shortly.
The first two responders gave you great answers. Locust Fork is very professional and will travel some to pick things up. She's one of the top 100 sellers on GB and has a stellar reputation.
LOCUST FORK CURRENT AUCTIONS: https://www.gunbroker.com/All/search?Sort=13&IncludeSellers=618902&PageSize=48 Listings added every Thursday! We do consignments, contact us at mckaygunsales@gmail.com
Thank you guys!
If you are near Orlando that is our next road trip…..headed that directing next weekend to pick up the Mark Christian collection along with two stops while in route for a few extras.
I liquidate collections all the time, and make the owners very happy.
So does Locust Fork.
I used Locust Fork also. I had MANY guns. She has alot of exposure here and it's all a bid scenario. Can't go wrong!
We've got several members here that all do a wonderful job.
Right now, we are a team of seven people. We have Brad taking pictures….Shelby handling invoices, payments and phones.…Scott logging things in/out and handling shipping….Nathan, Jeannie, Wiley and myself doing the descriptions. Wiley and Jeannie only work one day here and there because they have other full time jobs. Nathan is new and starts today! (Hoping for amazing things from Nathan.) Without all this help I couldn't possibly move the number of items we do.
Depending on one's definition of "large" collection, one can always sell them yourself here on GB as well. But, to avoid raising any eyebrows, or just the hassle of it, consignment either locally or some of the suggestions above will get you fixed up.
I'm not familiar with Locust Fork or their contract terms, I live in Michigan also. Would someone be so kind as to provide me with contact information?
Right up above montanajoe provided Kasey's (Locust Fork) email.
If you want the show to experience as a seller, Rock Island ain't it. They mean business and don't waste time. Slam, bam done.
A local auction house does them occasionally. Besides their own online, looked like they hook up with 3 or 4 different online companies. 3 or 4 guys manning computers and doing online and in person simultaneously. The live auctions audience is less than a quarter what it was 10 years ago. In all honesty, I don't think there was a bit of difference in price compared to bigger auction houses or online through GunBroker.
I bid & won the bottom Savage rifle for a friend. He paid for it and did the paper work the next day. Auctions have changed a lot with the advent of the internet bidding.
