I've had a C&R for many years lived in Florida all those years an have ridden out aboat load of hurricanes but today, fot the very first time, I get an email and a phone call with the following message. Is this common in other areas of the country during some natural disaster?
This is an important message from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Tropical Storm Helene is projected to develop into Hurricane Helene on Wednesday. Multiple Florida locations are in the storm’s path. ATF recommends that all licensees in the storm’s path secure their firearms inventory and records from flooding and other potential storm damage. In the event of damage, theft, or attempted theft, please contact ATF at 800-800-3855. Thank you.

Seems really strange to me.
Call back, say "no comprendo"
Sounds like a fishing trip to me.
Legit number I called it-🏅🥹📞
"I lost all my guns in that last hurricane. "
Happens in storm areas no problem but mother nature is a powerfull
Just think of all the other type messages they could be sending out, you should be relieved with the content of this one.

I don't think it's anything to worry about. I'm an FFL and they send weekly emails plus a few others occasionally, they have sent at least two in very recent memory over the last couple years talking generally about having a plan for natural disasters.
Nothing unusual.

I know a couple of 'kitchen table' FFL whose 4473 records were destroyed in a flood right before they 'went out of business'.🙃
I've gotten that same message in the past. I don't think much of it….just a little "fyi" note about how to deal with things if the worst case scenario were to happen.
