Well I went and let them talk me into having it done....the dreaded colonoscopy.
My doctor has been hounding me to do it for a while. My brother had to get one done and I was his driver, since it seemed pretty stress free I went ahead and scheduled mine. The results were good….no worries and no reason to have any other tests done anytime soon.
I'll tell you this for free though…..the day before my appointment was HORRIBLE.
I opted for the pills instead of the "yucky fluid" I had heard so much about. I think the pills were worse. Having nothing to eat and having to swallow 12 giant pills in 30 minutes was not ok. It made my tummy do flips. Then, having to get up in the middle of the night and do that again….NOT OK.
I figured you would be able to take pills throughout the day….but NO, its a whole handfull at once.
Anyway….I'm glad to have that "behind" me…..see what I did there? Ha!

Glad for good results.
The worst part is drinking the nasty prep stuff. The rest is nothing. Best 10 minutes of sleep I’ve had in a long time.
Yep only the prep day is the real pain in the backside…
Did you see my message I sent to you ??
"I'll tell you this for free though…..the day before my appointment was HORRIBLE."
This is not news to most here. Glad the outcome was good. Now you can look forward to the next one in 5 years.
Glad things are okay. As much as I hate the prep I remind myself of the consequences of what not having it done means.
My 55 year old nephew put it off and now he is dealing with surgery and chemo therapy for rectal cancer.
It is what it is. No matter what method, the results are what counts.
Glad to hear everything is good.
Hmmmm, I was allowed to have Jello (not red) and boullion which really curbed my hunger. After the procedure, I was amazed at how easy it went.
You remembered to take a trumpet, right?
Had my second one ever, 3 weeks ago, cleared me for another 7 years instead of 5. The discomfort of the prep and a little Michael Jackson sleep time is well worth the early detection of a potentially nasty and fatal disease………thank you very much
Been, there done that, several times. One less thing to worry about.
I did have chiken broth for lunch and dinner. The procedure wasn't bad at all….I actually woke up and thought I was still waiting for them to begin. I have a hard time sleeping anyway, so the bathroom nonsense and choking down more pills in the middle of the night made things extra difficult.
I slept pretty well compared to most nights last night.
I feel for you. Better to get it over with than to deal with something life threatening. I lost a very close friend to cancer because he refused to get checked. Plus he was stupid and chewed tobacco his whole life. An his problem was he swallowed it. No need to say anything else.
Pay attention Montanajoe!
yall got me talked out of it with all that prep work involved
Great decision! Enjoy your colon cancer.
Joe, cologuard is a good option.
Until they find something. Then you'll be sent to see your financial advisor so he can look up your assets.
did you also swallow the mini-camera so you can get a real time pictorial of your entire GI tract? pill sized little gizmo- one time use only. you don't have to worry about retrieving it, if you know what i mean.
Nooooo…….I'm sure there are a lot of people curious enough to want to see these things, but I'm definately not one of them.
The worst part is when the doc says "this is gonna poke a little", then you feel a poke and notice he has both hands on your shoulders.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
You’re a bad man, Mr.P!
Back in your hole Mr. P!
He Doggy, that comment wasn’t much better than his. You are both bad boys!
