Good day around the farm today..........

Got the yard mowed, sold some hay and they got started on the Beans…. There were two eagles out in the fence row tree watching. Once in a while they would fly out over the beans and get a rabbit the combine kicked up… Everyone was having a good day !!!

How was your Saturday ??

    The birds, and the hay bales. I was up in western Idaho loading square bales of alfalfa. Using a pop up loader, my buddy and I put a thousand bales a day in the barn. Bales weighed 95 pounds. Ninety five.

    Wore the chaps and of course used hay hooks. And some of the bales I had to lift over my head. And I discovered that the raptors liked to stand on the hay bale to eat their bunny. And for those bales, as I lifted them up high onto the truck, I got a face full of dried, powdered rabbit hide and guts. Sort of rabbit jerkey.

    And, some of the bales, the big birds used for a bathroom. About once a day I got a face full of dried powdered hawk doo doo.

    I did that work for 2 long months.
