Webley Mk VI

dfletcherdfletcher Member Posts: 8,173 ✭✭✭

Just bought a Webley Mk VI with a shaved cylinder. I reload and using lower pressure 45 ACP and AR isn't a problem. But I also reload for my other 455s and would like to be able to use that ammo in this Webley too.

I saw a video and internet reference to a plate that looks alot like a full moon clip, except the cartridge is fully enclosed and not held in place - like a slice of the cylinder itself. Seat it at the rear of the cylinder and it provides just enough added height for the 455 case to be used.

Anyone know of where to get such a thing?

If you re-load maybe rimmed .45 shells?

There is info on the internet if you include the search term "shaved cylinder" or "cylinder ring" but I did not see any for sale. One comment was to enlarge the .45 moon clips to fit the .455. That worked well. Good luck.

Thanks all. I have lots of 45 AR cases for my 25s and 1917s, and full moon clips to modify, so this is more of a want than a need. The YouTube video (Duelist?) is what gave me the idea. Was kind of surprised his gun went bang at all with the 455s.
