Haven't seen one for 4 days. They are all flying the Gulf of Mexico. Where they will encounter 150 mph hurricane winds. Going to be some dead hummingbirds.

Mine left weeks ago. Last sighting was Sept 20.
Yours will be on the back side of the hurricane, which means they'll have a helluva tailwind.
I thought ours had left, but saw some this last weekend when I was out doing yard work. We have a couple that winter here, maybe that was them.
I still have my feeder up, in case I get a late arrival from West Virginia.
We are mostly feeding bees now, but every year there are some hummers that overwinter here. Usually closer to the mountains, not on our side of the river.
Ours disappeared in the last week or so…..
ours left your way last week……….
We still have at least 50 here in Southern AZ. And now the bats have moved in.

Last hummer at our feeder here in west Michigan was Sept. 17th.
last one seen was Oct. 6. West central Illinois.
First of September their fatting up for the trip, males are the first to head south with the female lowing 10 to 14 days behind. I usually figure by 20th of September the ones seen are travelers.
It would be a hoot if there was a way to tag them and follow their flight paths, and to see if they do return to the same spot every year.
They do. We used to have a feeder by the front door. Each spring birds would hover in front of the glass door telling us it was time to get the feeders up.
…bye bye, birdie,,,
Can you do that in 4 part harmony? Mr. P could sing counter tenor.
It's been a couple of weeks, but they have left here also
My wife kept the feedes out and full up to a couple of days ago just to make sure
She has a out six feeders around the house and a couple in sight out the kitchen windows and a couple big trumpet vines by the clothes line post .
Like hedog posted .
My wife was late this year getting the feeders out and sure enought the birds would fly in front of the window when they seen her
to let her know get the freeders out here now . I thought she was imaging it but they do come back every year . She did get the feeders out that same day ,they were geting mad LOL by the way
They usually return the same date each year. Mark it on the calendar, and you can have it waiting for them. No more getting cussed.
I put mine out on April 15 and see the first bird within 10 days later. They might arrive before I see the first one.
I take the feeders down on October 15, which is our normal first frost date. The locals are gone a month by then and so are the migrators.
Our last 2 left yesterday I think, we had about a dozen last week feeding. I hope they return I sure enjoy watching them! I guess the last 2 heard about the storms and decided to stay an extra day here in Lower Alabama.
