"Going Armed to the Terror of the Public"
That is a law that we have here in North Carolina. This guy made threats against FEMA workers.
There is hostility in these mountains towards "The Feds." I signed up to work for the Census in 2020. I had a supervisor lady and we drove around, trying to interview people who didn't answer the form sent to them in the mail. Most of the houses that we went to they wouldn't answer the door, although you could tell they were at home.
The tenth house we went to, a lady came to the door, muttered at me "F****** FEDS" and turned around real quick and headed back down the hallway. I stepped right down off the porch and told my Boss "Get in the car she's getting a gun." And I believe she was getting a gun. We drove away quickly.
So I was a "Fed." That was my last customer. We drove back to headquarters, the Marshall town library, and I quit. I had lasted about 3 hours with the Census.

had one show up at my door he was told to get the f off my property too, he looked shocked😅
Well golly gee whiz! I wonder why people don't trust 'em?
It says in the Constitution that the Census must be conducted every ten years. You know, written by Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin, the same document that guarantees our right to keep and bear arms.
You should be happy you didn't end up in a chest freezer (episode of "Longmire").
As for dude. He should have kept his mouth shut since the first amendment don't cover those kinds of speech. Even though it should. All or nothing.
Federal agencies have proven themselves to be untrustworthy. Even worse, DEMOCRATs have filled agencies with partisan hacks. One needs to merely look at how they are out to end Trumps candidacy.
My previous 'Federal Agency' job involved meeting operators of 'targeted' operations and collecting information. I was allowed to carry a firearm due to the often disgruntled folks I interviewed and/or the extremely sketchy locations I was sent to.😕
Some of those places were so 'sketchy' that uniformed LEO's only went in pairs.
Yep, which is why people don't trust the government. The census that Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin had in mind simply counted the number of citizens in the US. Now the government uses that information for all sorts of stuff. Redrawing voting district lines to change the make-up of state and federal congress for one. Any information one gives any government agency will be used to skullduggerous ends. Count on it.
You have to remember that the feds seized the land to make the blue ridge parkway, the smoky mountains national forest and the land submerged by the creation of Fontana lake ,lake James and everything in the TVA jurisdiction. Saying " I'm from the government and I'm here to help you "still doesn't go over well with the long term natives .
Gotta say, I'd trust Fed Allen a lot farther than that old lady on Rocky Top. You can say no thank you. There is no excuse for rudeness.
Any Feds showing up at my place without a warrant will be told to pound sand regardless of their agency.
Horse Plains Drifter - These days it'll be better served counting illegals and folks with visas just incase they over stayed. Could we send the biden's extra irs agents to do door to door? We won't miss if few went missing. Aren't there 80K Forking New Guys?
