Trying to put stabilizing braces, the rv type, on my portable trailered deer stand. The hardware kit that came with the braces and bolts says to use an 11/36 drill bit for the 3/8 inch diameter self tapping bolts with 9/16 bolt heads. I've been around awhile but never heard of 11/36 drill bits. What am I missing. I don't want too much slop and don't want to sheer off bolts while torqueing them down. I did call the manufacturer and confirmed yes they do recommend 11/36.
thanks

5/16 usually for 3/8ths tap. The bolts might be to soft to make threads.
thank you
Are you sure it is not 11/32"? Slightly larger than 5/16.
I would think 5/16" would be better for a self tapping screw in wood or light gauge metal. 11/32 would be better for a fine thread tap.

The directions were probably printed in China. I'd bet dimes to donuts that's supposed to read 11/32, which is common as dirt.
From My first Honda MC maunal: "Please to address nut in anti clockwise direction with spanner..."
Gotta be 11/32.
Or 11/34.
Probably a typo but what do you expect from a bunch of 4th graders in China?
