Got carded

elubsmeelubsme Member Posts: 2,191 ✭✭✭✭

New law in Ca. Everyone gets carded. So I showed this youngster my I.D. and he said"Wow, yer my oldest customer today!" I should have requested help to my truck with my four bananas and can of Fosters.

Well, maybe you look young take it as a compliment

I was blessed / cursed with a baby face and being short for a fellow

it's a bad combination trust me when young and going to bars nightclubs or just buying booze

I had budies that were 17 and 18 they never got ask for their ID

it was SOP for me ,up to I was at least 30 yrs old but then the law "check every one" came into play my so back to showing my ID

But the up side , hey you can still vote for the politicians in elections , and have no ID or proof even if your dead .. what a great (BS) country

Looking forward to this. Maybe this Japo needs to say "No hablo" to see if I get a pass.

Got carded at large grocery store last summer here in MN when buying non-alcoholic beer (don't drink it, I use it for roasting venison neck). I am 83…..

I got carded for ammo a few days ago. The cashier said "it shows here I have to ask if you're 21 or older. Are you?" Yep, by twice that and then some. Oof.

Sadly, some of us are 3x even 4x that age

My mind thinks I am still 21 my body says my mind is crazy

I used to think getting carded was complimentary to me at my age but not anymore.

Now I feel it is just another control attempt made by our worthless lawmakers.

I'm half tempted to ask the very young looking cashier for their ID. After all, they must be at least 21 to sell me beer!

Oh that reminds me. I went in to the bank not too long ago to complete the transaction they asked for my driver's license. On my cards I sign with "SEE I.D." so I didn't think much of it. Yesterday wile waiting to use the ATM I had time to look at my bank card. I didn't sign the silly thing. Also there's no place to sign. I'll have to remember to ask about that.

When I ask for the Senior citizen discount and I ask them to ID me. (because they do not ask for my ID)

They say we don't need to see your ID. I say please and they just smile.

I used to be a people person but people has ruined it.

My local Dollar General sells beer, wine and tobacco. They require picture ID for purchase of any of those products, no matter how old the customer looks.

A clerk at a supermarket in New Germany wanted to scan my DL so I could purchase wine. I refused as they don't need all my info in their system for hackers to find. From the looks, people thought I was crazy as I left the bottle and walked out. Yup, they're sheep.

So I went to the liquor store across the street. The manager said they get a lot of business as they don't scan.

I was in the liquor store when a young lady ahead of me proudly said she was 21 today, and was buying her first legal booze. I said, "Well, 21 years ago, I was 21 years older than 21." She went blank, but the cashier laughed.

That was 15 years ago; turning 78 soon. When they ask for ID to check age, I just point to my head of white hair.

    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

Same here.. And if they don't ask, the buyer could be under cover and fines the store.

yes I bought at DG and they scanned. It was expired! No sale …

Although always described as a cowboy, Roswellnative generally acts as a righter of wrongs or bodyguard of some sort, where he excels thanks to his resourcefulness and incredible gun prowesses.

If they ask for an ID such as a drivers license I just go ahead and show it; however, before I show it I ask, you’re not going to scan it are you? If they say yes, I just tell them, no thanks I will buy it some where else. I don’t know who’s data bank that scan is being put in, or how well this information is protected. There is to much information kept on your drivers license anymore, including your social security number in the bar code on the back of the card.

I only have to prove I’m of age, period! they don’t need all the information on my card.

that is when I give them my concealed carry permit, has picture ID but no scan box, they don't know what to do then……….

Can't remember ever being carded. Don't buy beer or tobacco products so don't see being carded either.
