Thanks to some very hard working linemen the power is back on at my road.
We have had linemen from all over the country helping the local power companies rebuild many lines. No way to thank them enough.
Brings to mind the thread about buying someones lunch.
Been off since the 27th. Rumor has it some parts of the county my be off a few more weeks.
Volunteers are passing out generators and small electric, propane, and kerosene heaters to those that need them.
The wife's last years birthday present paid off. Expensive but well worth it. Kohler 30 KVW propane fueled. Boy howdy it likes fuel.

Nice to hear some good news and that it's picking up momentum.
Congrats on the foresight of having the generator and of course having the power back on its amazing how much we all depend on it ml
Maybe 20 + years ago my wife said no more dealing with out electric ,at the time it seemed like if it clouded up our electric would go out.
My wife said get a generator Now
Imagine if folks bought in to biden's EV.
Glad to hear you got your power back. Grandson just got back from Florida after helping get electrical grids back on line.
I’ve got a Campbell Hausfeld generator that I can back feed back into house through a special 220 outlet that I installed in the garage, that way I can run the whole house with out having to pick and choose. I’m able to run furnace, refrigerator, lights and use the well so we have water. I always keep 50 gallons of gas on hand during the winter in case of power failure.
Hows the clean up going? Hopefully get things back to semi normal real soon.
You will not be disappointed with the whole house. Well worth the expense.
Clean up going along but slow. The project is over whelming. The media has pictures of the devastation , you ought to see it in person. The county has three sites set up to grind and dispose of waste. They have contracted with companies to clean up after debris is placed along roads. We are talking about something as small as a waste basket to whole trees and stumps as big as a dump truck.
Something foolish I think, property and home owners are instructed to dump the stuff along roads then the contractor will bring an excavator, load it on truck and trailer and haul to grinder yard. Why not just haul it straight to the dump site? Boy you ought to see the amount of "stuff" lining the road side. Much of it is not even near a flooded area, humm.
Remember a whole house generator is yard art without fuel.
Our DOT roads were all but impassable for several days.
I started out running mine 24/7 until I realized it ate 50 gallons of propane in 24 hours. Also consider the engine runs under load and needs frequent oil changes to boot. Figured out real quick to run it 4 hours in the morning and 4 hours in the evening. My tank holds 800 gallons, do the math. We were without power for 20 day straight days.
Some folks near by will be without power for at least 2 more weeks,
Side note, for best bang for the buck, don't buy a screamer "2 cycle", get a real unit with a 4 cycle engine, you can thank me later.
Last but for sure not the lease. Praise the Lord, for about 1 mile in each direction of my house there was zero damage. Just like we were covered by a big bowl.
