    This is a Type 1 M1 Carbine rear sight. Should of specified. Sorry.

    The S on the left side is correct, just shows the sight needs to be inserted on the right side, so the S is facing the left side. All Type I flip sights made during WWII had an S on the left side, so your sight is a bono-fide correct sight. It's the FO B mark, and it was made by IBM, so you have a correct WWII sight
