Done most of the prepping. Goldilocks has been moved. Into the forest I go to lose my mind and find my soul.

Yes, looking forward to hitting the woods Saturday morning too…. Good luck out there and be safe susie !
We start Friday in Michigan. Best of luck to y'all in Missouri.
Good luck to you all. Be sure to report back.
Good luck and be safe
Good luck. I believe there is a high pressure system moving in for this weekend, so it should have them out and running.
Yup, got my equipment all sorted out and rifle(s) zeroed. Wind is predicted to be totally wrong for most of our stands but I have a plan B. Son hasn't decided where he's going to hunt due to this backward wind pattern. I told him to just shoot them before they got downwind. Several of our permanent stands have 360* visibility and ranges beyond 300 yards so it's possible to see and shoot deer even directly downwind if you're paying attention.
Get it done. Good luck you guys. Report back.
Alright, check in time. Howd it go??
Not so good here. The 'Harvest /Super Moon' messed up deer movement big time. I heard lots of shots but didn't see nearly as many deer as normal and only one young 8 point buck.
Local community had a deer hunters' supper last evening. Hardly any actual deer hunters showed up and no one was bragging so just guessing most had same experience as I. 50-60* is comfortable hunting but not very successful.
Well darn it. But you still got to go out and give it a try.
It has been tough. the moon, winds and temps are not hunter friendly . I am in se johnson county and still a lot of corn still in the fields here locally . but I cought a nice older 9 pointer cutting through a clearing saturday at about 8;30
Came in for a real shower and to check on eggs in the incubator. So far our camp is sitting at zero. As others have said super moon and warm temps have really impacted the hunt. Camps that normally have multiple deer hanging are seeing the same results.
We can hunt through December 1st so there is time.
I'm sure you're still enjoying the outing. There's still a big one out there you'll get later on.
I did get a cool pic of the sunrise.
Wow is that the actual color? Purple sky is wild. We get a lot of orange and once in awhile red.
Yes, it was wild looking. It was a very foggy morning which probably dispersed the colors as the sun rose. Most sunrises in the woods aren't very spectacular because the trees block the horizon. This was different so I brought out my cellphone and snapped a pic.
I think I see a buck over there to the right, behind that one tree.
Yep.........especially when Lubbock tries to blow through.😳
