Jeeze that stuff was terrible. Tasted horrible. That is where the saying "you have Moxie" came from if you could drink a full bottle of the stuff. I think it started out as a snake bite medicine in the 1870's. Not sure which was worse, the bite or the cure…..

I have heard of it and I f course the saying which also has faded into the past but never got to try it
Sounds like I did not miss out on anything good
Still make it in New England, proving that New Englanders have no sense of taste. I tried it once many moons ago when someone brought some back to Michigan. Seems like it took 2 days to get rid of the bitter aftertaste - never tried it again. 😝 Bob
Tried it when visiting Maine a couple years ago. It is vaguely medicinal but not all that bad. Not something I'd buy a case of, though.
Made from fermented Dems wizz
Yes I tried it. Has a very long after taste. Would rather drink evercleir straight.
People who drink this must not be too moxie🤔
It was big in Maine when I lived there 40 years ago. It was used by alcoholics to get them off booze..
Moxie is not alcoholic.
