I can't get the link to work but if you go to You tube and search (I bought a gun company)' to me it was a very interesting video
Here you go @savage170
Thank You
they also have a video on barrel making that was good too
I'd love to get back into Encore pistols again. Had one in .308 years ago, and it was a lot of fun.
I might not be brave enough for one in .600 Nitro, but it's good to know there's at least one out there.
Glad to see them coming back. Quality under S&W definitely dropped off. I hope they one day will start making the Hawken BP rifles again, would love to see one in 32 or 36 caliber.

I am fortunate to have a TCR with seven barrels. And my Texas Contender carbine in 25-35 is a jewel.
T\C, before it was bought out by S&W also had the best lifetime replacement warranty for worn or damaged parts on their muzzle loaders. I know it would be asking a lot to see a new company starting up to give such benefits, but…..I can WISH.
Many years ago i owned two contenders with about a 1/ 2 dozen different caliber barrels from 22 lr to 35 rem
However I still have a 58 ,54 , 50 , and 45 cal muzzle loaders , but have not shot them for years . Also have , a TC 22 semi auto rifle hats similar to a ruger 10/22
I was going to buy a TC centerfire bolt gun But That was about the time I backed off buying any more guns I reget it but oh well so it goes
I liked the idea. Buy one and swap the barrel to get many calibers. But never bought one. Maybe it they made a double barrel like a Howda side by side or over under. I figure over under would be easier like a giant Bond Arms.
I heard S&W bought them for the life of my I don't know why? I mean S&W only makes M&P now, right? Single shot M&P would be funny.
I love T/C. I have killed five deer, and several wild hogs with my .50 Hawken.
I have a few, will be getting one out for the muzzle loader season next week.
I hope they go back and pick up some of their older designs. I have a T/C Compass II that is one of the best under $300 rifles I've ever owned.
Only real disadvantage was/is the fact that magazines are either unavailable or 'yikes' expensive.
I want an old school contender. Shiny blued steel with wood furniture. 10" barrel, .30-30 chamber.
i love my two encores, one in pistol(44 mag) and one in rifle(muzzleloader, and 460 S&W barrels) really changed my deer hunting as i used just use a 20GA pump.
Now that's cool.

My uncle had one a long time ago. If there was a rifle around here at the time that could've outshot it, I never saw it. Ironically, given the reputation of just about every other Triple Deuce, the 10" octagon-barreled .222 a buddy of mine had would barely keep 3 rounds inside a 9" group @ 100, with any load. He had a number of old Contender barrels, and it was the only one I ever saw him sell.
I have a Contender just like HPD described with a Leupold 2X scope, late 70's, also a .22 barrel. Inherited a T/C .50 cal. Hawken some years ago, need to dig them out & do some shooting in the spring.
I have a couple of Icons: A .22/.250 and a .300 Winchester Magnum.
Message sent.
I have an encore. It’s set up with a 50 cal muzzleloader and it’s a shooter. I DO load some smokeless and this old girl can bark
