What the heck is THIS thing caught on my security cam? Skunk?

MercuryMercury Member Posts: 7,836 ✭✭✭

I'm not really sure, but it looks like a skunk we caught in our skunk trap a few months ago. All black, with only a tiny bit of white.

This one walks very weirdly, though.

Sorry for the bad resolution, these cams aren't that great at night.

Doesn't look like GB will let me paste it directly, so you'll have to open it on google, sorry.

Yupp.. Fat skunk. We get pretty much all variations around our place. Last week we had one that was pretty much all white with just a bit of black on it's back. We've had several with just a bit of white, either on top of their head or in the tail like yours. What is a rarity is the sighting of the Pepi La Peu versions around here. Bob

yup you can tell it's a skunk just by the way it moves

    AS posted a skunk

We have shared our place for years and they eat with the cats really cause no problems. Over 30 years only two dogs were ever sprayed . At one time i counted 19, but current about three

But the colors really range from almost all black with very litle white one that use to be around just had a white cap on its head to very wide white stripes and most since they eat cat food will huge before their Hibernation kicks in

nature tells them to eat when they can so they do And get to looking like Walmart shoppers

Definitely a skunk, seen a lot that walk like that.

You ought to be about 5 feet away from one and he stands up on his front legs, tense moment for sure. Luck would have it he held fire and walked away on his front legs only. Locked and loaded for sure.

Front leg stance is a warning and getting close to sharing their spray with you one of many warnings they hate using there spray they know it's limited

Stupid and lucky I have pulled their tails petted on them, they have charged at me stomped ther feet at me raised their tail still facing me when but as long as you give them a clear path and pose no danger they are happy to mind their own business and get gone I have pushed them pretty far and never got sprayed I did nipped once as a level me alone signal

Now Corner one and it's feels threatened has no escape route all bets are off
