How to do it.

I need help understanding a light mounted under gun. It's lower than where a shot comes out, seems like it would create glare. Are they useful in daytime ? 221B has a light for gun or back of gloves, interesting site. Don't tell Sherlock Homes you are at his address-221 Baker St, site named after his saying about doing the impossible. Being an elderly gal in wheelchair I need to make shooting easier, not harder.Thanks.

Are you speaking of a laser type light?

    Hey dotty.

A light like a flash light is pretty much only useful a night or in the dark.

Advantage- lights up area in front of you, and hopefully lights up target.

Disadvantage- the light shows where you are

A light as in a laser light, red dot, green pretty much same as above.

Then consider is your gun equipped with a accessory rail to put a light onto. Also, do want the extra weight and bulk of a accessory?

Glare is a problem only for the person who has the light shining towards him. That's why many defensive flashlights also have a choice of a pulsating light. The distance between your gun bore & the light on your gun is so small that it is not a concern at close range.

You have special problems in a wheelchair, primarily retention of your gun when he kicks your chair over.

There are many highly qualified lady firearms instructors. It's worth the money to have an expert advise you.

First let me say welcome to the GB forms.

If you’re using the gun for target shooting it is of no use at all. If you’re using your gun for defense maybe it could have an advantage in night time conditions if you were going into a dark area looking for someone, such as police might do. Myself I prefer not to give my position away if I were protecting myself in a dark area. Other options for night sights is sights that have been treated with Tritium, they glow in the dark like the hands on a watch, but only glow on your side of the sight, so if you were pointing your gun at someone they would not see the glow.
It has gotten to the point anymore there is about anything you want to hang or mount on your gun out there for sale. Myself I prefer to up grade most of my guns with practice shooting them.

Thanks to ALL for the info. I have read many articles about a flashlight disorienting someone in daytime but that sounds off. You have valid points about not using one and have changed my mind. $$$ is tight enough without a sales job on something unnecessary and I'm grateful for the time to explain issues. I pray any shots will only be at the range and will look for instruction for being in a wheelchair-(hanggliding mishap). Thanks to all. Last issue is finding a Level 2 holster for Hellcat Pro, found 2 people on ETSY that say they make them. Blessings to all.

Viridian makes a Hellcat Pro holster. You will find dozens on the auction side.

Didn't think it would so hard to find a level 2 holster.

Did find one at DeSantis site. It has the thumb break strap that covers the end of the slide when holsters.

Also when searching for a holster above level 1 retention, try using the term - law enforcement holster, or duty holster.

Get a shot gun and a mag light.

Hellcat Pro is considered an EDC gun-not duty- so Level 2 holsters are not a big seller. Just found one at DARA but they sit far from body and squeeze me in wheelchair, also need it to sit mostly above waist or it's poking into seat & getting pushed out of holster. I just remembered a Sheriff Deputy at the range carries one I'll try to ask him. Thanks for all your input.

Ya know, how does a shoulder holster sound to you, Dotty??

If the light is bright enough it can blind a person temporarily in the day time, but a light that bright is going to be about useless at handgun ranges in the dark due to washout. You want to illuminate your target so you know what it is you're shooting in a defensive situation. If you use an instant on type of light, you don't need to worry about revealing your location, you just use it to verify your target before you shoot it, and if you put the light on the victims torso, likely you're going to blind them so seeing you won't be an issue.

And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche

I thought a shoulder holster was ideal but sitting the weight of the gun pushes the grip down and it lands on a big buckle and no grip possible. Did just happen across one Razno I think that looks different. Thanks for the thought.

    Just checked-it's Razco sorry.
