Rarity and collectable factor.
thats huge🤑
Looks purty if there is still paint on them.
The red letter on a pre-1948 Winchester, such as the Model 37, did not represent anything special about the gun. It was simply for aesthetics.
If the model 37 is a Red Letter it will command a moderate premium.
small show comeing up fellow has a side stamp red letter pump gallery 22 i am going to give another look at saw it last month
I have found a reference to a "red letter" gallery 1890 pump .22 that was restored and was considered a rare rifle. I have not found any reference to a "red letter" Winchester outside of the model 37 single barrel shotguns in different gauges. I would consider the gallery .22 suspect or enhanced with red lacquer paint, this is where you must tread carefully. I also searched Bert's red book on Winchester's and there is no mention of red letter gallery .22's.
Never heard of such -!?🧐
