By Adam Johnson. It is fiction but as close to the truth as you can get about the horrors of life in North Korea under Kim Jong Il and Kim Il Sung. It is spell binding. I had a really hard time finding a stopping place, it is 443 pages of intensity. Thank God I live in America.

I read that 8 or 10 years ago shortly after it came out. It was a pretty decent read but I was a bit skeptical about the conditions in N. Korea as described in the book. From what I have learned since, it is at least that bad if not a helluva lot worse. Ditto on the "Thank God I live in America" and I think this book should be required reading for those that do nothing but disparage and try to tear down our country. Bob
Agreed, this is my second time for reading it. The people exist under horrible conditions as do many other third world countries. Eddie
The worst country in the world. Communism at its finest.
