Allen Helps With the Hurricane
There are 6 or 8 collection sites in the Marshall area. They set up some big tents in the parking lot of the Dollar Store. They use the big 5,000 sq ft metal building at the fairgrounds, etc. Various groups from across the country donate clothing, cans of pork n beans, baby diapers etc. Anyone in need can show up and load up with supplies.
So many people lost their cars, lost their houses, lost their jobs. Even 10 weeks after the storm the extent of the devastation is astonishing. This morning at 10 am, in the parking lot of the Dollar Store, in 35 degree weather, there were 100 people in line.
I went down to the old country store at Barnard, the store is not open for regular business it is stacked to the ceiling with relief supplies. I donated two jars of coins. When you drive an 18 wheeler over the road you collect a lot of change every day. The smaller V8 jar is a quart and holds about $150 worth of change. I told the lady at the desk to give a jar to someone who could use some cash for Christmas, and tell them it is from Santa.

Good on you. How are the roads? Are most of them passable?
Very good sir !
The roads around here are good. Other places like Chimney Rock, roads are completely washed out.
I 40 near Tennessee line closed, washed out. We need hundreds of millions to repair all the roads.
