Little bit of info doing a on-line search about your question:

Very few smokeless powders are being made in the USA.

    here is one link

Thank you Oakie743 for that info. I was totally unaware of the powder situation.

It was also a surprise to me not long ago. Never even realized that the big guy Hodgdon was importing powders. Another reason I suspect that has resulted in reloading powder shortages in the USA is probably most of the powder being manu is for Military contracts due to the wars.

Lots of info about on-line about Hodgdon and powders no long made in the USA.

Hodgdon has purchased several powder manu's, Dupont (IMR), Nobel, Ramshot, Accurate, just to name a few and also RCBS.

Also Lawsuits in the USA involved.

Also noticed that most of the playground equipment in parks and play grounds is also made outside of the USA Russia, Germany) due to injury lawsuits. (USA companies sued out of business)

USA lawyers not as likely to file a lawsuit against for example Putin.

    Modern times.

Hodgdon owns no smokeless powder manufacturers, they have distributorships of powders made by St Marks and IMR, both owned by General Dynamics. They import powder from ADI owned by Thales. Probably some others and they might change their source and not change the designation.
