I am looking for the receiver sight that was made for the Savage Model 23 Sporter.

If you mean a sight that will attach via the factory holes on the TOP of the receiver, Savage made 2 (one w/milled steel base, one w/sheet-steel base); Lyman made a Model 48. Those are all that I know of.

None of these have been made in over 50 years; classic sight dealers might have some, no-one else. If found, expect to pay a lot (three figures for the Lyman).

My understanding is that the one with the sheet metal base was intended for the Model 19 rather than the Model 23. Thank you for the information about the Lyman Model 48. And I already know that the price would hit three figures. I just don't want to put non-factory holes in a nice old gun.
