WTB Ruger Vaquero 44 mag 4 5/8

oldbuckaroooldbuckaroo Member Posts: 56 ✭✭
I'm semi-retired now with a little spare time on my hands and looking into giving cowboy shooting a try. After evaluating several options, I figure a Vaquero 44 mag would fit the bill. I'd prefer the 4 5/8" with the disclaimer stamped on the bottom of the barrel. Nothing too terribly fancy. Just a good shooter with lots of life left. Maybe one of you CAS or SASS guys could school me on the advantages between the standard SAA vs. Bisley configuration. Let me know if you've got one you want to part with. Much obliged.

    You would need two revolvers.

For cowboy shooting, a lot of shooters use 38/357 Vaqueros as they are cheaper to shoot and reload and for reduced recoil.

The new Vaqueros are lighter and more Colt like in size than the older Vaqueros but are only offered in 38/357 and 45 Colt.

I originally used two 5 1/2 inch 44 mags and swapped one for a 4 5/8 for balance and so I could tell which was which when shooting.

I am now also thinking of switching to the New Vaquero's in either 38/357 or 45 Colt for the lighter weight...but then I would have to buy another lever action rifle.
