I am looking for a synthetic forend for 740 in 308. I have seen the stocks here but no forends. I believe the740; 742, 400 areiterchgabl

    Ramline used to make replacements, I have a set on my Rem 742. Might find a set floating around here or on Ebay, they're sometimes listed as being for the 742 or 7400 also.

    No maker for synthetic forearm the Model 740 or for Model 742 made before 1975.

    Remington made a design change in the action bars in 1975. Went from a thicker, wider action bars to a more narrow profile bar. The Current forearms will not fit the older series.

    Only made for the M-742 made after 1975 only. Serial numbers after A 500,000. Must have Letter before serial number to fit properly..
