S&W 1917 45acp BARREL wanted

A friend's relative passed him an old gun, with all the right stuff, but he had sawed the barrel back to 3", which took the front sight with it.
I'd like to find a barrel for it to replace the "custom" one.

    If it a Smith & Wesson, I may have it. Need Model of revolver and Serial #. I have several barrel listed on GunBroker now.

    It's a US Army Model 1917 DA .45ACP made by Smiff & Whatsisname, and inside the crane is an L, and the numbers 19005 with what could be a chipmunk in silhouette over S6(G?); the lanyard on the butt screws into a plate that says US ARMY MODEL 1917 NO. 1495XX. The rear of the cylinder has all the aforementioned numbers, including the chipmunk over S24, and 15133B.
    It takes half-moon clips & needs a barrel with a front sight.
    I'd be happy to email pics so that you can see what it is, in case I left some ultra-important detail out of the description.
