...I use the Texas rig mainly, and no, not cause I live here.
...Depends mostly how deep, type of structure I'm working, and water clarity...still mainly the Texas Rig.

Fishing in Paintball??? Oh well, I use what ever they seem to be biting on! I generally like top water better but will use plastic worms if the don't seem to be biting on anything else.

I catch the biggest share of my fish on the plastic worms and jigs.

I have had the best luck with a 'modified' Carolina rig. I use mono line of 12lb with a short (16 to 18 Inch) spider wire leader. Works for me.
