...I'D RATHER BE FISHIN...
I go to Thunder Bay, Canada for my Walleye. I spend about two weeks there, "paint" the entire lake with a good spincast rod, and have a "ball".[;)][}:)]
[:D][:D][:D][;)][;)][}:)]LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
...Lakes up in the canyon area, deep, cold, so...some walleye.

They're the best in my opinion. My boy's and I catch all the Pike, Smallmouth, and Walleye we want, but the 1 to 2 pound Walleye, fried crisp, are the best of the lot. They sure beat Indiana Largemouth and are tastier than ice fishing caught bluegill or perch.
...Geez, there like LONG trout, like 2-3+ ft. long, w/BIG TEETH!
...Silver spoons, jigs wk. good on them. GREAT to catch, but they have a "Y" shaped ribs...you have to fillet them a certain wy or there all bones.
...Lost a great rig to one on a little lake in Arkansas. Beautiful little mountain lake, not on any maps, just outside of Mena, Arkansas, can we say "Contra scandal"? Where (Mena)the CIA landed and did whatever they did, the c-130's. Anyway, had a rod w/a silver spoon hanging off rod tip about 16 inches, laid the rod down in the boat...I gues the "torpedo" had a flying run at it cause the reel end of the rod did not flip up and out...it SHOT straight out ten ft in front of the boat before it ever hit the water! Scared the bejesus out of me!
Their in deep cold lakes, moutain type lakes.
Ever heard of em?

You're right, they will fight. I just don't like the slime when handled (although that is much less in cold water), the "Y" bones to fight for the fillet, and the teeth when you remove the hook. The lake we hit the most in Canada has lots of Pike in the 3 to 8 lb. range, and some quite a bit bigger, in some areas of the lake. We usually try to fish elsewhere for fish we would rather catch, but they are fun to fight. The Pike and the Pickeral are about the same, just length and thickness differences to look at.
quit playing with toys, and pick up a tool. Might I suggest a fishing rod?
