Fishy Question

OK. I was escorted off the general board (and rightly so) for this.

I had dinner with a bud tonight that asked me this question. I guess because I lived in Madison, WI while in school and did a lot of perch fishing he thought I was an expert - not!

The question: If a guy goes to say KY for an extended time and catches, fillets, and brings back to IN mabe 300 lbs of game fish can he sell them in IN?

...There are state laws governing the taking of game fish, for ANY purpose. Just as with deer, duck, whatever. Limit, and possesion, I would check with ALL game authorities involved...[;)]

I don't think they treat any kind of meat or fish like you would produce(veggies). I would bet that you need to be licensed for the harvest and preparation and sales of them. I have a friend who tried this with salmon and it cost him a lot of money defending himself, he ended up winning the case but he didn't break even because he was charged federally, the trips to court, 250 miles one way, alone were breaking his bank. Not worth the money he could have made.
