I am, and have been look at for a 7'6" to 8'6" fiberglass spinning rod, medium action, with a fast tip. Does anyone know a company that makes one besides having it custom built?

...never looked for one that long. Tried Fenwick? Class act for rods, a little "pricey", but next to custom in quality 4171.gif

Near my brothers place, there is a ma & pa bait tackle store. They buy all the broken rods they can find from other stores. They find one with a broken tip, and another with a broken grip. They cut each one down and make a 2 piece rod and length can vary.
Last time I was home, they had an 'all star' rod they had repaired. It was a bait casting rod, not a spinning rod, although they had some spinning rods that they had repaired also.
I bought it for $25 and measured it when I got home. 7'9". I like it better than any other rod I have.

    Thanks---Peabo

...shoff, I have used graghite rods for so long, I'd forgotten about fiberglass, seems like most manufactures have too.
Had some time, did a search, and dang, except for blanks, there does not seem to be a lot out there, in length you are looking for.
Found these, not sure if E-glass is just a "grade" of fiberglass, or it means a composite of fiberglass and some other material.

...Anyway, found these, and by line weight they specify w/rods, I don't think, their the big thick Super-Heavy action saltwter type rods...some go dn. to 8lb. line,...one piece...maybe this helps.

Go with a Lamiglass rod, the fenwick is overpriced and won't hold up. A cheaper rod that is a decent 'throw down' is the ugly stick.

ugly stick bought two of the eight foot catfish rods last year, one on sale at Wal-Mart for $23.00. The catfish rods are white. Though they are a spinning rod, I use a baitcaster on them. The black ugly sticks will be a little lighter. I have never seen a broke one and I have five or six of them.

I would do that, but I don't really have the equipment for it.
