I usually net my own shiners, but they are sort of scarce this year, how much do you pay for large shiners at your local bait shop? They cost 6 bucks a dozen here..[|)]

The 6-8 inchers I use for Northern Pike run $1.50 each at the local bait shop, thats why the little guy and I catch our own the day before we go. Sometimes thats as much fun as fishing for the Northerns......

Down here "Crappie Minnows" are little shiners about 1 1/2 inches long 2 bucks a dozen..

Large Shiners 3-4 inches long 6 bucks a dozen..The black bass are going nuts over the large shiners right now. might explain why we dont see too many in the lake, they must be hiding so they dont get eaten..[;)]
