MONSTER BASS :) almost pulled me in...

edited June 2006 in The Fishing Hole!
...I worked cattle for three or four days, so fished maybe an hr. ended up with a 3lb bass, and some one pounders, a 3lb channel, and a 2lb channel...and a saddle sore *....and the pics aren't there! No big deal, probably 15 fish at the most that I kept. BUT, here is one monster that I thought was going to strip my Tica and break my 30lb spider wire! My topwater was almost as big as him...[:D]

Add a little soy sauce, a srinkle of brown sugar, some ginger, and that thing would look like shushi.

I've seen them die eating things bigger than they can handle.

    Bloviator,

I see you are being safe and keeping your fingers away from his mouth...wouldn't want to lose one of those. Might even be your aiming finger on your roping hand. LOL

...I was trying to keep my fingers away from those trebles on the topwater...[:D] as little as he is, his hanging weight is/was not enough to "paralize" him, and keep him from flopping all around while I was trying to take a one handed pic...[:D]

Lt. you and your other half there are wearing those sandies out...[:D]...and a few bass too I see...[;)]
way to go ya'll...sure is fun isn't it?...[;)]

we have gotten up a 4 am the last three day in a row
on the water before sunup and fishing as the sun peeks over the horizen
the sandies and hybreds are running in about 3 feet of water eating shad
the water looks like it is boiling they are so aggressive.
but the wife loves it and we are both on vacation
she caught her first legal bass (16 inch min.) today
she caught one the other day but he was only 14 inches long
here are some pics of the fish today
    and yes it is fun!!!
fish till about 9:30 and then home to clean fish
    freezer is filling up

have you ever seen a grown woman happier (doing something you can do in public)
    eeb0e646.jpg
we have to many sand bass in this lake so the size limit is 10" and 25 keepers per person
but my wife does't want to take that many at one time too much time cleaning them
I will hate to go back to work tuesday morning knowing that they will still be running then and me stuck in a dump truck not on the boat.[:(]

well only one more day of vacation, tomorrow
we went and caught more today
the wife had to release 5 more little bass today
she is starting to tell em to grow up and come back later.
she saw how letting the lure just float for a second will let them hit it and she love the little bass now.
she had her first bass jump out of the water when she set the hook today.
She was so excited to see them jump and shake there heads from side to side
well here are the pics from today
