Went fishing yesterday in Cedar Key, Fl. Only been about 10 years since I last went....
The big city pier is closed, and while there is money to fix it, the city decided that since they get no direct income (county owns it), that they are gonna take their sweet time fixing it. They'd rather have the weekend harley riders with $$ for image come in for burgers, beer, and hotel rooms than have a place for locals to go fishing....
Anyway, fishing from the base of the old pier I caught 2 redfish about 15" each (too short for slot limit), 4 small sea bass, and a bunch of whiting. The wife got a lot of whiting as well, and a black drum.
We were using fresh shrimp cut into smaller pieces on a #1 circle hook with 1/4oz lead about 20" above the hook on 14lb test line.
