Several years ago at the King Salmon charter fishing office in Neah Bay Wa. hung an old original photo. Looked to have been taken in the 1920's One BIG halibut hung up with block and tackle on the rear deck of a wooden commercial fishing boat. Wow! the monster was 11' 6" and 1650lbs. and so marked. Upon returning the next year the business had changed hands and the old photo was taken away by the seller. I asked and no copies were ever permitted to be made of this original pic. Too bad! I have heard of 200-400lbs from B.C. and Alaska and caught them to 80lbs in Neah Bay and out in the straight of Juan de Fuca. Anything 140lbs or so would be huge in Washington waters. What is the largest slab you guys ever heard of?
