Can anyone name the first one? There are no markings at all on it. This belong to my Granddad and he brought it over from Germany after the war.

    Those look old but reel good! Very similar to Penn designs.

    The bottom is a Montgomery Wards brand. I bought it in late 1960 something for flounder fishing. Caught many fish with that little reel.

    That wouldn't be an early Abu Garcia would it? The only thing missing is the line guide between spindles. I don't know if those followed or not on the early ones.

    WOW MAN...That baby IS OLD AS THE HILLS!! I would do a serious clean up and test it out to see if the drag is smooth.
    Looks like it might be bronze or brass.Would prob clean up nice.I love old reels like that,have u counted revolutions of spool to handle? What's the Ratio?
    Prob no level wind on any reels that old.
