My grandpa, from Tennessee, told me of his ice fishing adventures in Alaska. He always stressed, at every chance to inform me or anyone else within a few hundred feet, this sure fire way to cure them bear problems.
"Always take some green peas with ya, when you see them bears, put them peas around yer icehole, an when that bear comes up to pea, ya kick him in the ice hole...."
