Went through the ice when I was a kid....have not ice fished in 37 years...but have actually been thinking about trying it.

My friend died ice fishing by himself falling thru early spring. Best to go with friends.

Absolutely...a buddy of mine has all the equipment....going with him and his son would be the only way I would venture out on the ice..
