I'm curious to hear if anyone else has read this book. It has received some rave reviews (and a couple of noteworthy negatives). Much of it rings true to me, although the story and characters are difficult to follow.

Woody, assuming this is a book about Vietnam, you would have to hold a gun to my head to make me read it.

Hard for me to describe it. It is fiction and the author is not a vet. Twists and turns throughout. It captures some of the absurdities of the period without passing judgement or making a political statement. It doesn't remind me of anything else I've read about VN, fiction or non-fiction. There's info and links on wikipedia. Although fiction, everything that happens is believable to me.
