He came on here claiming that everyone was lying about their service then claimed to been awarded the Silver Star. Then backed down and claimed to have the bronze star. Now he has disappeared after this being pointed out for all to see.
Another wannabe, he was caught on several other points too. Guess he took his hat and ran.[:0]

His account is still opened, but I never heard a response to me telling him to knock it off, he just stopped posting.

I kind of miss him, you didn't even have to think to blow holes in his stories, maybe he's reading up on another outfit to be part of [:)]
Wasn't even a challenge. Probably come back with another user name.
Which is a stupid thing to do, when you claim combat decorations in a forum full of Vietnam vets.
It's either PTSD or he's a poser.

I will have to go with a poser, a vet who had the awards he claimed would know there ranking and at least keep them staight in the threads (Silver Star to a Bronze Star) and if you noticed he never really answered with any real details. WOW were still debating him [:)]
He tried to cover it with aggression. The old theory of "throw a bunch against the wall and see what sticks".

What if he really was a combat copter pilot, like the "Chickenhawk," author was. He would be a big contributor to the Viet Nam section. But even if he was a nut, like in "One Flew Over The Coo-Coo's Nest," he would be a likable nut, as long as he stayed near us. We've all served with "unique" people--and liked them. They made us smile.
It's only when a nut gets out there in public, with persons who never served, that he is in danger of being taken advantage of or of being made fun of. Veterans don't do that to fellow veterans. We are comfy with our ego's because we have proved to ourselves that we will fight. The public still doesn't know this about itself. Never will either. Their chance to find out has passed.
The fellow was still there when I rotated...often wanted to know how it turned out. I told him when I left that if he got killed, She would get the money. He looked at me like a light came on, but said nothing.
