If you are a veteran who has received a rating of "100% total and permanent service connected" you are eligible for medical coverage for your spouse and other dependants called CHAMP-VA. This coverage includes medications. If you have been total and permanent for some time and did not know about this benefit, you can still enroll at any time, there is no time limmit, and you can collect past phisician and RX expenses if you have documentation. If you are married and/or have a dependant, this is a life changing benefit, but you must enroll. You can call 1-800-733-8387 to do so, or to get information. If you are seeking total and permanent status, it is usually granted pro-rated when it is granted, so it is important to get and keep your records now. There have been "incorrect" forms and information put out by VA regarding eligibility of dependants because of their social security/Medicare status, stating that if the spouse had medicsre coverage they were not eligible, this was not correct. If you recieved this or similar information from VA, whether by mail, or phone, etc, you need to check it out with your service organization and Call the number. Flapjack
