looked thru all of these and still have not seen another from Ft Chaffee Ark. In 1956 or any other year.
I must be the only one alive that was there at any time for Basic.
I did not go to Vietnam, but I am a Vietnam era veteran. I went to Navy Officer Candidate School in Newport RI back in September - December 1967. Then I went on to Nuclear Power School in Bainbridge MD where I was an instructor for most of the next five years.
I joined the Navy but did not see the world! It still was a great experience for me ... no regrets!
Ft. Lewis, WA> 11/66-01/67 Rained for 40 straight days. Never over 40 degrees, never below 32. The Company next door started building an ark. I did see the stars once.... there was a hole in the roof of the barracks over my bed. [:)]
USAF Lackland AFB Mid June 1974 Flight 662 Here Sir!
Worked as a crew chief on one & two engine jet fighters. Spent most of my time with F-4 Phantom's.
John m: I too was at Lackland in August 1965. What was your squadron and flight? I was in the 3703 Squadron, Flight 1262. I arrived at Lackland on the 24th or 25th of August. I served 4 years proudly and today am in my 20th year with our local VFW Military Rites Team. We serve at veteran's funerals ( Eulogy, firing squad, taps, folding and presenting the flag). We are all well uniformed and take our duty very seriously. It is quite an honor to say the least. Hope to hear back from you. Take care and Godspeed.

Hadn't been in contact since my discharge many years ago. I was deeply saddened to find both of these fine gentlemen's obituaries.
Reason for this post is if you want to connect with any of your old pals, I suggest doing so today and not wait for tomorrow!
