M7 or M9 Bayonet

To all:
I have a friend who has volunteered to do military funerals in the Madison Wisconsin area. He wants to have all of the proper equipment from the late 50's to current: M-16/AR-15 Rifle, Bayonet, Dogtags, etc, and has asked me to help him find the right equipment at a discount rate. However, the question is should I get him an M7 or M9 Bayonet for funeral use, or does it matter?

The M9 is the model that is currently in use(?), but if he wants all equip since the 50's shouldn't he have both? Most people are not going to know the difference.I always thought the M9 looked kind of over the top Rambo, and was completely useless. Just based on preference I would say go with the M7.

We have the M10 bayonet now. blade looks like KA-Bar, no hole in it, but partial serration. brown rubber handle though instead of leather or hard plastic. Coyote brown sheath that fits on modular gear; ceramic hone.

The springfield is appropreate for any function. It is the traditional rifle of the Infantry(on the cross rifle insignia), and demilled versions are often used in parade. The Old Guard uses M14s while other Army units use there curent issued weapons. When it comes down to it it is not the weapon used it is the exacution of the ceramony that matters.
