590A1 SLUG GUN FOR PROTECTION.....from Squirrels

im looking for a first hand review on a 590A1, 6 shot ( for now ), 18.5" ( for now ) cylinder bore heavy wall barrel. I opted for the bead sight and standard synthetic stock, to ensure a snag free draw from its softcover under stress/darkness/fear of death.... this mock up will be used by me as my bear defense gun and home defense gun.
will be purchasing a second 590A1 for tacticle hunting mod purposes. Im looking at speedfeed stock, shell rack on side of receiver, longer rifled barrel w/ scope, longer 8 shot magazine tube, and a stubby lil bi-pod to round it out.... make it into pure slug gun for use with sabot rounds.
Anyone ever throw lead slugs thru an unrifled 590A1? If so what brand of rifled slug did you use? How about use of any 3" rounds? what did you like, what did the gun not like?
