PTSD

Anyone heard of AR 10-22? It is/was a proposed congressional bill, with very little media coverage, I read about in an online newspaper article a couple years ago+-(can't remember which paper). Information has became extremely scarce on this bill. The details of it were scary!! Effictive in 2011 or 2012 it would place any veteran that claimed PTSD on a Federal gun ban list, same as any convicted felon.
Does anyone have any info on this? Did it get passed? Did it get shot down?

Damn, I clicked on "PTSD" thinking maybe I'd find something useful. Like how people are doing, where they got help, or how their spouses handled it. All I got to say is if you clicked on this forum to find help, call the Wounded Warior Center 24/7 at 1-877-487-6299 to talk to somebody who can help. Alot of times the phone is picked up by somebody going through it too.

If that did pass many people who needed help would not get any at all.

I'm not a vet but other situations can bring PTSD. I had a really rough time 6-7 years ago It lasted for a few years and I was diagnosed with PTSD after several years of pure hell. I can tell you for a fact that its a beast, Enough of a hell that I dont go certin places even today.

I spent quite a while at the bottom of a bottle self medicating, lost my dream job, and only got out of bed long enough to drive to the store in the morning to get vodka, whiskey, or ciggerettes. I was a 3 pack a day smoker and drank 2-3 gallons a week. Lost my dream job as a result and theres 6 months I cant remember at all.

On very rare occasions I will still get panic attacks but I've learned to calm myself being sober and quitting smoking really helped.

With that said, if they passed a law and I was in there situation I would not say a word, suffer in silence.

Long story short, if you guys are suffering get help and dont try to do it yourself. I wasted alot of my life not letting people help me. I fear if something like this passes people would not get help....I would not.
