The media has been pretty quiet about what is left of the flat broke malfunctioning Socialist cesspool nation. The new Gub'mint is Communist; they promised all the freebies and give-aways back. They also promised to "renegotiate" the repayment of the bail out. Me thinks you can read that as telling the banks to suck eggs.

Anybody know much about Greece and where this may lead aside from the collapse of the European Union....

I would think the EU would be happy to have Greece leave at this point, even if they did nationalize their debt.

I have some by-marriage relatives whose parents & grandparents emigrated from Greece about a hundred years ago. The were all glad to get to the US and had no desire to return. Greece's time on the world's stage has passed long ago and won't be returning.

It'll last as long as they'll allow, though they seem to be up against the wall on this one.

We have a "Greek" plantation in Baldwin Co. Al....Greeks came here from the old country to learn English, and assimilate into the population. These folks contributed more than just labor, they intermarried and became positive citizens. Most were in the food business. The plantation was started by a Greek Immigrant of the cloth...still exists today...

If you go to googlemaps.com and go to Athens, Greece and take a tour around town on your computer at street level it's a sad sight at the amount of graffiti that's spray painted on just about every building in town. Even the fences that are put up to protect the ruins are spray painted in many place.
