Can Congress just act like The Federal Reserve and raise the debt ceiling in October and not worry about silly account deficits dragged out into infinity?

If the Feds can monetize the debt and just hide/hold Treasury Bills at 0% then where is the cost for all this monkey business? Let the good times roll! Money after all is just an illusion of the money master magicians in Switzerland where all the Central Banks spin the roulette wheel anyway! [:D] Can you spare a derivative or two please. Not a silver dime for it's not kosher here![;)]

If you think this week's fight over Homeland Security funding shows off Washington dysfunction, imagine the possibilities of a potential three-way collision: debt ceiling + October 1 funding deadline + sequester.

The fusion of those factors in September "could prove a toxic mix," said Corey Boles, the U.S. senior analyst for Eurasia Group, in a research note. "There will no doubt be voices in the Republican Party looking for a moment of maximum leverage over the increasingly lame duck president."

President Obama has said he won't negotiate over the debt ceiling.

Just like on immigration there Bozo Obama?

Business as always in the puzzle palace. Why would anyone be surprised? Did anyone honestly believe that things were actually going to change after the Repub's took control of Congress.

They had their chance to effect change when they controlled both houses during Dubya's run in the WH and all they did was show that they are no better than the democrats. This time around will be no different IMO.

What he said. Plus note the change the Republicans do want are not the kind that shrink Government or protect your privacy. With a simple bill in the house the take over of the Internet could be stopped in its tracks by not funding it. It will never happen.
