A United Nations official confirms that the flag of the Holy See will be raised for the first time outside U.N headquarters the morning of Pope Francis' first visit.

It is a turnaround for the Vatican, whose U.N. ambassador has said it had "no intention" of raising the flag before the pope arrives Sept. 25.

and a bunch of socialists gather to plan the downfall of America...and that is OK in America...diplomatic immunity, supporting them with our money, no parking tickets, and most all get trips to disneyland...no wonder they equate America with mickey mouse and goofy

The Vatican says a Palestinian state must "soon" live side by side in peace and security with Israel.

The Vatican issued the statement Friday after Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met with Pope Benedict XVI and other Vatican officials.

During the meetings, the two sides discussed the need to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and recognize the "legitimate" rights of Palestinians to a homeland. The Vatican said "that soon the state of Israel and the Palestinian state must live in security, at peace with their neighbors and within internationally recognized borders."
