Illegal Uses for Alexa? Only The Big Hacker Knows

Tell me this doesn't have potential to trust but verify? Or is that verify than/then trust?

https://www.google.com/search?q=5+Awesome,+Illegal+Uses+for+Alexa&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

Imagine not only that Alexa identified what content was playing but also that there was simultaneous live conversation (proving there were people in the room while the content was playing). Apply a little machine learning and a bit of media modeling, and Amazon would own the most actionable set of marketing data ever created. Let's see -- Skynet, Empire, First Order . I actually don't have a good metaphor for this one. Ah, but wait .

5. Preinstalled surveillance

"Alexa. Record the next three hours of audio from Echo Dot #2."

"Alexa. Tell Record-a-Call to record for 20 minutes after the phone rings."

I am not a conspiracy theorist. Not even close. But this is simply too obvious. Since Alexa is always listening, with a writ from a court of competent jurisdiction, and in full compliance with the Fourth Amendment, bugging your location is just a subpoena away.

Or, for the hacking community, it's simply open season.

Importantly, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Apple and other organizations that are purveying ASR/NLU systems are going out of their way to prevent all of the above. But in practice, we do live in a world of infinite possibilities. "Alexa. Are you listening?" Of course you are. Intelligence communities, both foreign and domestic (including state and local law enforcement), are you listening? We'll know soon enough.

I remind every person I know that gets an Alexa-type system that they are providing surveillance audio of their home to the Government. Basically, they are giving up their 4th Amendment rights.

I will NEVER put something in my house that spies on me.

serf, if it were simple thinking out loud, that would certainly be one thig.

Repeatedly posting bullcrap theories and hoaxes is another, as well as defending that craziness and insulting those who point out the discrepancies.

What else is necessary to fit the definition ?

There's been plenty posted by me that was on the mark and I haven't seen you comment one time about them, actions are louder than words my friend.

Well, perhaps you are right, serf, maybe I did not notice.

How about citing five times you have started a thread that was "on the mark", in any substantial way ?

Seems pretty clear cut to me, what does Waco Waltz think about this?

THAT, my friends is the important barometer of this contentious issue.

Serf, you do realize that it is within the power of the courts to issue just such a search and seize, whether Alexa exists or not? You're aware of that right? You're aware that bugging has been used since electronic devices were invented... you know, shortly after the invention of solid state hardware?

Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche

Do you know you that most people break the law everyday, now it may be a minor infraction yet people have become profiled more and more by The Government to induce the conception that they are in control more every day in this police state of manipulation.

The courts have already given powers of secret courts and warrant less searches but they know to use it wisely for now but once that power is given it is never taken back by we the people for they control the mass media along with false flag actions to manipulate the voting public of their actions.

If your in the public then the government can and has the capacity to find you at anytime. And they grow that capacity exponentially yearly.

And yes the tools have been sharpen nicely for The NWO to take control when it deems it necessary.Like the failure of The Federal Reserve with Fiat money and the bringing of a cashless society all for you safety and convenience of Course.[:D]

I could go on nowbut you can see that we are nothing but sheep now.

I am aware of all of that serf, yet none of it appears to justify your scared-ness of Alexa as a device. Care to explain? I mean, you saw the part about court ordered search warrants right? You have an issue with those?

It's just another device that can be used to spy on you legally or illegally if you have the know how. Then compiling data on the cloud until they need it to to errr find something to incriminate you.

Lets say in the future the government says your under suspicion for anything and we only need to review the data to find it. I think the courts would/will finally agree this will be legal.

Or they could review it illegally and find it and find another way to relay it to our prestigious law system to convict you.

After all if you have nothing to hide then you should not fear our government over you! I know you agree Mr. Perfect.

Kind'a like the cloud of war thing that makes you untouchable in world courts. Collateral damage is acceptable and all that rule of law jazz!

You know if they commit a crime and have diplomatic immunity then they get off Scot free kind'a thing?

Knowledge is power and until all in the government's are morally perfect then I do not agree with your premise to trust our watchers. They are not my g-d. Maybe yours however.

Rank has privileges some seen or unseen.

My bluetooth speaker has been making funny noises. Easy to setup two way communications. Maybe somehow noises from my neighbors are getting into my speaker?
