The U.S. military statement said it acted in "collective self defense" of its partner forces and that the U.S. did not seek a fight with the Syrian government or its Russian supporters.

According to a statement from the Pentagon, pro-Syrian regime forces attacked the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces-held town of Ja'Din, south of Tabqah in northern Syria, wounding a number of SDF fighters and driving the SDF from the town.

Coalition aircraft conducted a show of force and stopped the initial pro-regime advance toward the town, the Pentagon said. Following the pro-Syrian forces attack, the coalition called its Russian counterparts "to de-escalate the situation and stop the firing," according to the statement.

Yes, 1 incident certainly indicates an overwhelming trend.

Well not quite just one incident. The USA attack a convoy a while back with a plane with the Russians warning us never try that again and Iran just launch six missiles traveling over Iraq to hit ISIS terrorist today in Syria!

The tide has turned and it's heating up over there,no doubt about it!

The strikes are the first time Iran has fired missiles at another country in three decades and represent a major escalation of Iran's role in the war in Syria.

We are playing a dangerous game by supporting groups that have the dual goals of destroying both isis and Assad.

While it is a pretty safe bet that the SDF is better than isis, it is only speculation that this brand of lessor islamists would be better than Assad.

It is a mistake to shoot Syrian planes down. Assad is a leader like the Shah of Iran, Saddam Hussein, and Muammar Gaddafi was. They kept the peace and didn't allow ISIS to exist or start trouble.

We don't need a war with Russia. That's EXACTLY what OBAMA wanted, two White Christian nations fighting and at each other's throat.

Get a dictator in charge of Afghanistan if you want peace and leave Syria to handle Syria.

Those Arab nations not only abruptly suspended diplomatic relations, as they have in the past, but also surprised many by cutting off land, air and sea travel to and from Qatar. All but Egypt, which has 250,000 people working there, ordered their citizens to leave Qatar.

The move created an immediate crisis for Qatar, whose only land border is with Saudi Arabia and which imports about 40 percent of its food from the Saudis. Residents said that people were stocking up on food and cash. And Qatari diplomats and citizens were scrambling to meet a 48-hour deadline to leave some Persian Gulf countries where they had been posted.

The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that as of Monday, all coalition jets and drones flying west of the Euphrates River will be tracked as potential targets.
